NOT the end.....

Today would have marked 5 weeks since Mom's stroke.  During that time, Daddy, Heidi and I were beside Mom as much as we could be and it will still never feel like enough.

I could tell you all the odds that stacked up against her.  I could tell you about Daddy who just fought to hold onto her.  I could tell you the pain of Heidi who flew back to California with plans to see Mom Tuesday evening.

But.  All of that seems like not the right story.  So let me tell you of our last minutes with her.  Minutes are what matter - right?

I walked into her hospital room.  Daddy was by her side holding her hand.  He immediately jumped up and I got to hold Mom's hand.  She has been sleeping a lot in the last few days.  When I came in she was talking.  She was alert.  She wanted me to know these things -

"I love you SO SO much! In Jesus Name Amen."

She said this over and over.

Funny - how a lifetime of memories, feelings, hopes, dreams - all is summed up by-

"I love you SO SO much! In Jesus name, Amen."

That is really all I could think to say to her, too.  She asked Daddy to pray for "our girls."  She was really really thankful for my sister's dog Nash.  And - with Heidi there on the phone - she kept saying she would see Heidi tomorrow (which is today.). AND - she will.  I am sure Mom is zipping around the sky checking on all of us.

Now comes the part where all of you want to do something to help.  BUT you already have.  So many of you visited the hospital.   Sent us texts to ask how Mom was doing.  HUGGED us.  PRAYED for us.  Those prayers were answered.  Mom isn't in pain anymore.

We have a small family - and with you around - we felt loved and like we weren't on our own.  THAT is what we need.  Just for you to continue to be around us.  We love all of you.

More information about funeral arrangements will follow when we know them.

But for now, we will let the words of Mom sign off -

I love you SO SO much!  In Jesus name, Amen!

Hello, Again....

Hello.  It's me.... Amy Clark.   Once again I come to this place to write about my mom's journey of health. If you want to see what happened before check out:  https://debbiefromm.blogspot.com/   That first link has her story about her brain tumor (2009) and then meningitis (2013).  So what's happening now.....let me catch you up.  Some of her troubles started back in January where she started having trouble with her eye sight and itching/pain in her back. Blindness runs in the family, both her grandmother and mom had Macular Degeneration so we had her tested for this. We also looked into shingles for the itching and pain.    Last week - Mom had been ok.  I saw her everyday while I worked with Daddy on taxes.  We often went to lunch together and we talked all day long. Saturday night - the night before the unexpected trip to the hospital she and Daddy had gone to Costco and walked all around.  They ate out.  All was o...
